1. Describe your research focus and/or current research project(s) you are working on.

I'm working on improving the efficiency of production and recovery of cell protectant metabolites from halophilic bacterias, as for the different applications of this protectants in biotechnology and biomanufacturing processes.

2. Why did you choose this area of research?

The desire to restore environmental niches and help underserved communities.

3. What would you like to pursue after graduation?

Start a company.

4. What advice or insights do you have for those just beginning their graduate career in CEE at Rice, or for those interested in the program?

Environmental engineering is a noble career that allows one to positively impact human society and development.

5. What do you enjoy doing when you're not working on your degree?

I like going to Valhalla, to cheer with other graduate students.
