Faculty

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) has 14 core faculty members with key relationships and funding from groups such as the National Science Foundation, the Houston Endowment, the Port of Houston Authority, the General Land Office, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the Texas Medical Center.

The department also has a network of 15 other Professors in the Practice, Lecturers and Adjunct Professors who greatly contribute to CEE. This network adds value to the department with additional key areas of expertise, as well as collaborations and opportunities to train the next generation of civil and environmental engineering professionals.

Additionally, the department has 13 established research groups, including major centers such as the NSF-funded NEWT Center, the SSPEED Center, the Brine Chemistry Consortium, recent COVID Research with the City of Houston, and CERISE.
