Environmental engineering at Rice University was tied 15th among the nation’s 160 top graduate programs in the 2021 U.S. News and World Report ranking, while civil engineering was ranked 27th.
This marks the 12th year in a row in which Rice’s environmental program has placed in the top 25 in the category of “Best Graduate Schools (Engineering, Environmental),” and the fourth year in a row in which it has placed in the top 20.
For civil engineering, it's the sixth year in a row in which Rice has placed in the top 30 in the category of “Best Graduate Schools (Engineering, Civil).”
The annual assessment is based on evaluations by faculty at peer engineering schools.
